There are many ways to be happy but true happiness is in understanding. If you understand yourself, you will be happier. This article help you do just that and make you a happier person and make you feel happy.
Happiness is the one element of life which we all need. It doesn’t matter whether you live in a huge city in the US or in a remote town in Congo. Universally, it is the thing all of us strive for to find and keep. No one is or can be happy at all times but it is true some people are more satisfied then others. As for becoming happy it doesn’t take expensive cars or fancy awards to do it. Studies on what makes people happy reveal that it doesn't have a lot to do with material goods or high achievement; it seems to come down to your outlook on life.
I want you to look at is this pyramid below its called Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs; you must first fulfill the bottommost base before you can do anything, and obviously build up in your life. And for those basic needs: food, shelter, and clothing you need a job. In the US, that magic number for all your basic needs is $40,000 a year, for other countries according to your dollar’s value it’s almost the same.

After you have your basic needs and you satisfy your animal instincts to live, you can now start working on the other humanly aspects of your life.
A study that followed lottery winners showed that a year after people hit the jackpot they were no happier than the people who didn't, your probably wondering what I mean from this but what this study suggests is that all humans have a baseline level of happiness. What happens around us may give us a boost, no matter it be positive or negative. So to be happy permanently, all you simply have to do is rather than only doing things to stimulate your happiness, improve your attitude towards life and become more optimistic and you will be a happier person.
Humans are very interactive beings; we have a need to communicate to remain happy. We tend to communicate in some way the majority of our lives. Now think about this scenario you take a $100,000 job promotion which is all the way on the other side of the country. You have no family or friends there, and you are a complete stranger. The reason you take the job is because you think increases in salary will make you happier. Sadly, this common mistake is incorrect all material goods are a temporary stimulus to your happiness, and can’t give you permanent happiness. After a while, when you bloat your costs to match your income you will need more long term comfort and support and money just can’t give that. Family and friends bring that inner happiness which is impossible to explain on paper you will just have to find that one for yourself.
You might not have the biggest house, the nicest car, or even the best clothes, you might not have an amazing job, but this way of thinking is completely wrong. Think about it like this you’re lucky to have a house, and car which is a luxury, and especially a job (a lot of jobless people in the world). Think about the less fortunate. Volunteer at a homeless shelter or notice the poor people walk everywhere rather than take a car. If you’re reading this on a “computer” you’re already a lucky person as a lot of people don’t have this luxury either.
Science shows that when you smile, whether you feel happy or not your mood is stimulated upwards. So why not help yourselves smile all the time!
