Don’t you find this to be absolutely ridiculous? The world’s richest 1% own 40% of the entire world’s wealth, While 50 % of the world’s adults only own 1% of the wealth.

What do these people know that the other 99% don’t? Well it’s finally time to reveal all.

Don’t you find this to be absolutely ridiculous?

The world’s richest 1% own 40% of the entire world’s wealth, While 50 % of the world’s adults only own 1% of the wealth.

What do these people know that the other 99% don’t? Well it’s finally time to reveal all.

People who are successful are all the same fundamentally. They all follow and act upon certain principles that allow them to be successful. These principles when applied to any situation whether it is becoming incredibly rich or simply becoming a better parent, help them succeed.

This is what I hope to share with you with this article. Through thorough research and bit of experimentation I have boiled down the true essence of success into 7 major principles.

The 7 Principles of Success:

1. Think Big

Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success. -David Joseph Schwartz

You are only able to go as far your thoughts. If you have a small bowl you can only put a small amount of water in it, but if you have a large bowl you can put a large amount of water in it. So always visualize yourself being the best. By placing your thoughts and goals any lower you are simply limiting yourself.

2. Develop Focus

It’s impossible to be successful unless you master the art of focus. Focus is the ability to emphasize 100% of your abilities and resources on one particular task. It allows you to have the highest chance of success as you are giving it your all. Without focus you set yourself to achieve a target lower than your potential.

Most people have no idea of the giant capacity we can immediately command when we focus all of our resources on mastering a single area of our lives. -Tony Robbins

3. Remove False Beliefs

Without even experiencing things, unsuccessful people tend to limit themselves by saying and believing in things such as:

  • I Can’t do this
  • This is too hard
  • I’ll never be able to finish

This way of thinking only confines them from achieving great things. Take Olympic swimmers for example, before their race they don’t think about losing or failure but they think about winning and success. Because ultimately if your mind says no, there is no way that your body will say yes.

4. Develop an Internal Locus of Control

People who have an internal locus of control will feel responsible for the outcomes they get in life. This is in contrast to people who have an external locus of control and blame all of their outcomes on external factors.

To become successful one must develop an Internal Locus of control. You have to learn how to manipulate certain outcomes as to turn them into your favor. For Example:

You get your test papers back and you find out that you failed the test.

External Locus: You rationalize that you failed because your teacher was too hard, completely giving up your control.

Internal Locus: You rationalize that you failed because you didn’t study hard enough, and therefore by studying more you can be successful. In this scenario you give yourself complete control.

This simple change in perspective can be the difference between failure and success.

5. Set Goals

This has become quit cliché but goal setting is still one of the most important principles for success. Goal setting allows you to gauge yourself; it allows you to determine how far you have gotten and how much farther you need to go.

Aiming for success without goals is like shooting an arrow without a target in mind. It’s useless. – Anonymous

6. Overcome Fear

One of the main things that limit people from success is fear. To be successful you must face your fears, whatever they might be.

7. Be Determined

Keep your dreams alive. Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe. -Gail Devers

In the end success eventually boils down to raw determination and a passion to never give up. Every successful person at one point in their lives had this fire of determination inside of them and that is why they are successful today.
