Compassion is the feeling of empathy or sympathy towards a person in need. It is a sense of shared suffering and is generally regarded as the cornerstone of humanity. Compassion is sometimes the fatal capacity for feeling what it is like to live inside somebody else's skin. It is the knowledge that there can never really be any peace and joy for me until there is peace and joy finally for you too. - Frederick Buechner
In my profession as a consultant I am lucky to have the opportunity to meet and talk to many people from various backgrounds. What I have found is that when it comes to success, the things that are preventing you from becoming successful aren’t always the things in front of you but things inside of you; particularly the things inside of your head. Your thoughts have such a profound effect on your actions, that you might be suspired to discover that the reason why you’re still a failure is that while you were so busy trying to conquer the world you forgot to conquer your own mind.
We are living in uncharted territory. Never in history before has the world moved so quickly. Everything is replaceable, nothing is sacred and it’s all about “what’s next.” Before you are can even enjoy something you buy, its next version is released. Polka dot shirts could be all the rage in December and then next month in January you could be made fun of for wearing the same thing. We have twisted our lives into a constant race and this phenomenon has gotten so extreme, that so much so even relationships are not sacred anymore.
Change is a part of life. From crawling to walking to running, you go through so much change in your life that if look back to where you were even 1 year ago it’s amazing to see how much of a different person you are. On a daily basis you grow and learn so much that while these changes seem insignificant initially, overtime they end up changing the entire foundation to who you are. But generally this microscopic change isn’t the change that people refer to when the say “my life has changed”. They are usually referring to those large chunks of transformation you only go through a few times in your life and it is these large changes that people hesitate with and are afraid of.
You will only go as far as your mind takes you. I strongly believe that your thoughts and your outlook towards life are the two driving forces in everything you do. You could be as intellectually gifted as Einstein or have the physical gifts of Michael Jordan. But unless you have the drive and passion to go along with your talents; you will never be successful. These motivational quotes you are about to read are from people who have all gone through what you are going through now. People who have faced challenges and failure but have still come out victorious. They are words of true wisdom and I hope you will make full use of them and implement them in your life.
