likable

If you are someone that wants to attract people toward you, essentially, you may be trying to become a “people magnet”.  To become a likable individual, you may want to be someone who radiates positive energy and happiness. If you are a people magnet, whenever you meet people, they are most likely instantly attracted to you.

Although, many of us may not be natural people magnets. Luckily for us, becoming one is not impossible nor difficult!
Becoming a people magnet requires you to mould yourself differently and in some cases come out of your comfort zone.

In this article, I will discuss 6 top-notch strategies to help you attract people towards you:

1. Radiate Positivity and Happiness

The first key strategy to attract people towards you is to become someone who radiates positivity and happiness. Be that person who can make everybody feel good. Smile at everyone and compliment everybody you meet. Everyone loves a person that can make them feel good and if you are able to lock down this fundamental skill, it alone will attract individuals toward you.

Although, be sure not to overdo this and always be sincere in your conversation and compliments. Most individuals are able to sense if someone is being “artificial” and not genuine. Insincere behaviour can put you 100 steps back in your plan to become a people magnet. So no matter what, always be REAL!

2. Display Confidence

Confidence can play a major role when trying to attract people towards you. Be sure to be confident in your posture by keeping your head high and back straight. Not only is your posture important but so is the way you present yourself as a person. Be sure to dress well and speak appropriately. In other words always be classy, mentally and physically.

Having confidence will not only make other people like you, but you will notice that you will feel better about yourself too. When you are confident, you will feel better about yourself and your abilities which will ultimately present you with a positive influence on others.

3. Always Make Eye Contact

Eye contact is fundamental in order to attract people towards you and to increase your likability. A big percent of our communication is done through body language, and a big portion of that “big percent” is done through eye contact.

For example, through eye contact, we are able to tell whether someone is annoyed, angry, happy, and sad. When someone avoids eye contact, it creates the impression that they are:

  1. not confident/ nervous
  2. they do not care for what you have to say
  3. they are hiding something

Although in some countries it is a sign of respect not to make eye contact, so make sure not to instantly jump to any conclusions.

4. Control Your Emotions

A  lady or gentleman always has control over his/her emotions.

Being able to control your emotions is critical when it comes to being likable. You need to be able to read the room and react accordingly. Find moderation in your emotions. For instance, try not to abruptly laugh hysterically but don’t completely cage yourself and your emotions either.

Not being in control of your emotions can cause people to think negatively of you. While it is also important not to be affected by the opinions and thoughts of others, you need to understand where their negative thoughts may be emerging from. For example, it’s possible someone mistakes your hysterical laughter for teasing and creates their own negative assumptions behind your outburst.

5. Regulate Your Voice

Try to talk a bit slower than the people around you. This creates a sense of knowledge and authority which is very attractive. Along with this, replace your use of “umm” and “like” in your sentences with pauses. The pauses create the illusion that you are very well-informed and allows you to communicate more clearly and effectively.

Also, be sure to regulate the volume of your voice as well. Talking too loud can make you seem arrogant and be too intimidating, whereas talking too quiet can make you seem too quiet and shy. Therefore, understand when to talk loud and when to talk quietly.

6. Be Yourself

The biggest and best way to attract people towards you and to become a “people magnet” is by being 100% genuine. Essentially, never try to be someone you are not just to make people like you.

As Andre Gide once said,

It is better to be hated for what you are, than to be loved for what you are not.

Conclusion

Becoming a people magnet definitely can be fun and has its pros, but always make sure you’re attracting the right kind of attention. These 6 tips are something I hope you can fixate into your daily life to help you become a more confident and attractive person.

Cheers!

Its never bad being yourself, being true to who you are is extremely important. But that said we are as humans ALWAYS improving and I honestly believe that feeling or thinking you are “bad” is not always a negative feeling because at least you have realized you can improve and that is half the battle in itself. I believe in you and your spirit — with the right approach you can not just make your life better but also make a positive impact on the world around you as well 🙂
